PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
HOW REFLECTIVE I AM ?

As teachers we find many and distinct opportunities to reflect about, the setting in which we are immerse unescapably pushes us to make a profound thinking on the way we are acting and the results obtained. As professional educators we expect to be good actors in teaching and leraning development. Our learners are the ones who provide us with information about how good/bad we/they perform in class, so is there when we stop and reflect about it.

In terms of being a reflective teacher, I consider myself as someone who really cares about his learners in the sense of making them feel good or entertained while learning a language that help them for their future. I usually observe think of situations happening throughout my class, some students' misbehavior, lack of  interest and workin. sometimes I am flexible to change from activities based on the conditions given  (Reflection in action), and I try to think up other ways of addressing the class next time (Reflection on action). As I work with primary students, I try to make them enjoy the class while learning.

However,as reflective practitioner I miss the systematization that requires to be reflective, unfortunately I do not have a diary in which I can express my satisfaction or frustration upon my teaching practice. I do not write reflective journals so they can be helpful for me, not only for a short term, but for my long professional development, I believe I need to find or implement strategies that allow to review or check what I have been done right or wrong, so I might not repeat the same mistakes or actions

I frequently reflect after my lesson has finished and maybe a bit after that, nevertheless as I have no notes or witings about, I forget the matter in my class and I am propense to make mistakes again, or I do not pay attention to some significant details in the classroom.

Time to reflect is needed and also being aware of the process of reflection, so better results can be obtained and you as teacher can grow professionally.
