Critical Reflective Practitioner What roles can you play as a " critical  reflective practitioner ?" Broadly, being critical in education means to play an active role  in society promoting changes in specific settings. As critical reflective practitioners we have to help students know and get acustomed to what happens outside the school. As freire said to conect the word to the world. The main purpose of reflective teacher is to become learners in readers of their own reality seeing their social or political context, "influenced by the  structures and workings of power that exist outside the classroom". METAPHOR DRAWING Being a teacher means that you are someone who possess  variety of skills and values that are supposed to be reflected on their teaching practice. As English teacher I consider myself to be a manager who has different identities through which I try to take control over the different situations that happen in the classroom. One of the identities that Farrell recognize in teaching is the teacher as entertainer, he describes this kind of teacher as someone who cares about learners’ emotions and feelings. Since I work with primary students, I identify with this identity as I try to have my students comfortable and learning while enjoying the activities proposed for the class. In relation with this, I believe I motivate my students to learn English as something that will help them to find better opportunities for their lives in their future. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOW REFLECTIVE I AM ? As teachers we find many and distinct opportunities to reflect about, the setting in which we are immerse unescapably pushes us to make a profound thinking on the way we are acting and the results obtained. As professional educators we expect to be good actors in teaching and leraning development. Our learners are the ones who provide us with information about how good/bad we/they perform in class, so is there when we stop and reflect about it. In terms of being a reflective teacher, I consider myself as someone who really cares about his learners in the sense of making them feel good or entertained while learning a language that help them for their future. EXPLORING TEACHER'S BELIEFS Nowadays, learning languages is promoted to be a necessity and no a luxury. varied benefits and advantages are spreaded as an open door to success.  When it comes to the English language, one of the most common reasons to learn it, is its raising relevance  on economical, cultural, and political fields. English seen as a lingua franca has become in the main instrument when referring to communitive purposes. Many people beging studying English  and some of them successfully achieve the process, but some others fail beacuse they are not motivated enough and find the language difficult to learn.
